President Donald Trump returned home to his Manhattan skyscraper Monday night for the first time since his inauguration, an occasion that prompted him to reiterate his affection for the White House.
“Feels good to be home after seven months, but the White House is very special, there is no place like it… and the U.S. is really my home!” Trump wrote on Twitter late Monday night after his arrival at Trump Tower.

It was the second time this month that the president has felt compelled to tweet out his fondness for the White House, with the first coming in the wake of a Golf magazine profile that featured an anecdote in which Trump reportedly told members at his Bedminster, New Jersey, club that “that White House is a real dump.”
The president disputed that he had ever made the remark, although the Golf magazine reporter stood behind the story, telling the Golf.com podcast that he had heard the story from two or three different sources and that Trump had made his “dump” comment in front of eight or nine people.
“I love the White House, one of the most beautiful buildings (homes) I have ever seen,” Trump wrote on Twitter earlier this month. “But Fake News said I called it a dump – TOTALLY UNTRUE.”
